Flow Approvals by client

Hi

I would like to find out if Flow Approvals could be used to send clients (that are not on Office 365) or do not have Flow a request to approve a quote. Then the reply could automatically update a spreadsheet and the cell could change to Approved?

Regards Warren

    Hi @WarrenLab,

Do you want to approve the request in the Outlook client?

At present, if Approver selects Approve or Reject on the Outlook client, it needs to confirm the request in the Approval center of the Flow portal, and then complete the entire Approval.

In addition, there is no action to update a spreadsheet and the cell.

You could format it into a table and then set the Condition. When Approve Response is equal to Approve, use Update row to change the value of column to 'Approved'.

    Best Regards,

    Barry

Actually we can use the s"end e-mail with option" action to request approval from a non Office 365 user.

We can update a spreadsheet with a table by using the Excel OneDrive for Business "Update a row" action if the speadsheet has a table. If it doesn't we can use the Graph API to update a specific cell of the spreadsheet https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/docs/api-reference/beta/resources/excel

    Kind regards

    Hi Barry

Thanks for your response. What I was asking is; Is the Approval function only available with a Office365 subscription? I would like to send a quote to a client in order for them to approve the quote. My client is not an Office 365 subscriber. Or is the Approval function only for internal approvals (Manager approval) within an organisation where everyone has Office365 (which includes Flow).

I think I underastand your solution on setting up a condition to change the cell to Approved. thanks for that.

    Warren,

The "Start an approval" action  requires a Flow (or here an Office 365) licence. The approval is visible in the Flow approval center. This is not what you need.

The "send e-mail with option" action provides an approval system without licence. This is what you need.
