I tried to add a component to a data card and was not successfull.

Can you explain a little more about what you tried and what you ran into?
In general, you need to Unlock the datacard (from the advanced properties) and then you can alter it how you like...including inserting other controls.

Data card is a so-called "container" control. Component is also a "container" control. The reason you cannot add a component to a data card is because that would create too many nesting levels of controls.
Adding components to data cards is currently not supported.
@dinusc - good call. I totally missed the "component" in that message.

Good to know! I just tried that too.... should be great if that was also possible.
This is strange. A few months ago I created a set of components and happily added them to various datacards on twenty or so apps. Now I find that in these apps I can no longer add those components, nor can I create new components and add to datacards in apps. How can this be?
I can copy an existing component from one of these apps and drop it on to another datacard in a new app, and modify the component, even to the point of changing every aspect. It will run happily on the datacard, but cannot then be copied and pasted on to other datacards. Bizarre, or what?
I really wanted to put a component in a data card and I can't. How strange that you could, and now can't. The platform is slippery!
Yea, is there any other way to insert component into Data Card please? Or is it an idea considered for or under development by Microsoft?
