Pen input to Varbinary(max) in SQL Server

Hello!

I have been working on developing an app and one of the requirements is capturing a signature from a pen input control.

I have gotten it to work in the past by patching the .image property of the pen input control directly to a varbinary(Max) column however it only worked for a little while. Now when I try to do that same patch command that worked before I am getting this error...any advice would be helpful:

The requested operation is invalid.

Server respone: [MyTableName] failed: Implicit conversion from data type nvarchar to varbinary(max) is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query.

I've made a test but it worked well on my side:

Patch('[dbo].[ThePicTable]',Defaults('[dbo].[ThePicTable]'),{ID:"3",PIC:PenInput1.Image})
