I have a SP List 'SGC' where employees enter information via a form called frmIDEntry. Within frmIDEntry is a field 'AssignedTo' that is a LookUp from another SP List 'EmployeeShort' - fieldname = 'FullName'. When employees enter records, I want AssignedTo to default to a specific LookUp value which is "---" (others will change this value later...but I'm just looking for a default).

I have tired each of the following in the default section but continue to receive errors...

If(frmIDEntry.Mode=FormMode.New,LookUp(Choices(EmployeeShort.FullName),Value="---",Parent.Default)

or

LookUp(Choices(EmployeeShort.FullName),Value="---")

Any suggestions?

Hello @RJF61,

Here's one suggestion:

1. Go into the field in the SharePoint list and set the default as "---". This will set the default value for the given field as "---" for all new records in your SP List.

Are you setting a default value for the looup column on the form?
You need to set a record for it
If(Form13.Mode=1,{Value:"---"},ThisItem.Client)
