Hi guys,

 

In Canvas app, if I put an Edit Form, and then I have a Data table, can I display the 1st item of the Data Table ?

and can Data Table be selected, then my Edit Form will change its records to the selected one ?

 

Any guidance is appreciated.

    You have to have the same datasource for both the edit form and the datatable and for the edit form it cannot be a collection or a variable.  It has to be an actual datasource.   The Item property of the edit form should be Lookup(datasource, ID = Datatable1.Selected.ID).

    Hi @Drrickryp ,

     

    Forgive me for a quick question, can I use the standard "Unique Identifier" column for the search key ? As this is CDS table, each table has a column (usually with the same column name as the table name) which the data type is "Unique Identifier".

     

    Reason is I don't have a unique column that I created for this table, but even so, when I'm in the formula editor, could not see the "unique identifier" column in options that usually appeared as we type, unless because it is same as the table, I actually had choose it, but there is an error saying I should revise like this :

    Please let me know if I should create new topic for this ?

    That should work. You could also just use Datatable1.Selected as long as you don't reshape the datasource in the gallery.
