Hi All,

         I have a requirement where I need to pass ComboBox selection thorugh PowerApps URL.I have created something like this

APP OnStart : Set(Selection,Param("ComboBox"))

ComboBox DefaultSelectedItems : {Program_Name: Selection}

APP URL : https://web.powerapps.com/apps/GUID?TargetScreen=Screen2&ComboBox=CINEMAS

When I press the above URL ..the ComboBox shows cinemas as Selection but it doesn't show items in the gallery ..Gallery shows items selected in ComboBox.. When I press save it says no item is selected in ComboBox.

Am I missing anyting there ?

Thanks in Advance

Regards,

Manoj

    Hi @kullurumanoj ,

    Could you please share more configuration of your ComboBox Control?

     Do you want to display the default selected value within the Combo box control in the Gallery control before interacting with the control?

    I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

    Could you please reference this

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/Combo-box-quot-Selected-quot-not-really-selected-until-a-person/td-p/145338

    Hope this could be helpful.

    Best Regards.

    Yumia

    Hi ,

         Yes,I want to display the default selected value within the Combo box control in the Gallery control before interacting with the control.

    ComboBox Properties :

    Items : SortByColumns('[dbo].[Program]',"Program_Name")
    DefaultSelectedItems : Filter(col2, Program_Name in Selection).Program_Name
    SelectMutliple : false

    col2 =  [dbo].[Program]

    Thanks in Advance

    Regards,

    Manoj

    Hi,

    just by curiosity, why do you want to use a ComboBox if you allow the selection of just one item? why not a drop down? Do you want to display more than one value per item or you only display your program_name? If it's just a list of values "program_name" you want to display and select, then drop down is appropriate and doesn't have complexity

    Now if you still want to use combo box, If I follow my example in this thread you need to have the same source in the items and defaultselecteditems. Have you tried to replace 'col2' using the exact same source 'SortByColumns('[dbo].[Program]',"Program_Name")', and if you just need the 'program_name' I also just to be sure added it to the 'items'

    Items : SortByColumns('[dbo].[Program]',"Program_Name").Program_Name DefaultSelectedItems : Filter(SortByColumns('[dbo].[Program]',"Program_Name"), Program_Name in Selection).Program_Name SelectMutliple : false

    @v-yuxima-msft,

    in the thread you're pointing at, there's the solution on how to do it, PhilD who asked for help in that thread got it to work based on my answer, so I don't understand why do we have 2 Community Support Team saying it's not possible? Is it just in the case of a combo box that would display more than one value per item that there's an issue? because for single value item, there's no problem as long as the source in the items is the same one filtered in the defaultselecteditems.

    Hey @ccauser ,

                         Thank you very much ..It works for me. I had to change the formula as per my requirement.

    Items: SortByColumns('[dbo].[Program]',"Program_Name")
    DefaultSelectedItems : Filter(SortByColumns(col2,"Program_Name"), Program_Name in Selection3)

    Even collection worked for me instead of table itself.. Thanks again.

    A small question again :

    https://web.powerapps.com/apps/GUID?TargetScreen=Screen2&ComboBox1=CINEMAS

    In the above link I would like to use something like ComboBox1=ACTIVATE ENHANCEMENTS ..Can you help me how to pass this to url .

    What's the character needs to be used instead of space ?

    I tried %20 and % instead of space but it didn't work for me.

    Example : https://web.powerapps.com/apps/GUID?TargetScreen=Screen2&ComboBox1=ACTIVATE%20ENHANCEMENTS

    Regards,

    Manoj
