Hello all,

This very straightforward flow is part of a larger flow I'm working on. [Get Files] was coming up empty in the larger flow so I created this one to isolate and test [Get Files]. It's finally outputting files and folders, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that it seems to be arbitrarily skipping some files.

I dumped the raw output of the [Select] data op into Excel. I sort it and compare the listings to the actual contents of the SharePoint folders. Every folder I check is missing a random number of files. I've set the "Top Count" to 10 million and it's STILL omitting files from the result set.

Not only is it omitting files, but it's also dropping any prefixes on the file names it does list.

Files named "Documents Needed - Quarterly report 2024.xlsx" show up in the output as "Quarterly report 2024.xlsx".

Any idea if this is by design or are these bugs?

Hi @logicworkz ,

The maximum pull (without pagination options) is 5,000 files and is the root cause. I can't speak to the file name variance but recommend you check and see if there is in fact another file named that.

If you have a one-off project that requires more extensive file visibility, I recommend you move your project to Power Automate Desktop, "get files" in PAD is more efficient by design.

Thx for the response!

This task is for compliance at the enterprise level. I'm new to power automate. So would PAD will allow for triggered flows without being dependent on the desktop itself running...I'm only using cloud flows.

As far as the files renaming, I'm certain. These are files that exist within a particular subfolder. And we're talking 8 files in a sub all missing the prefix portion. Very strange...

PAD is unable to create cloud flows so that wasn't a solution. I did stumble upon a setting that fixed the issue. Within the Get files (properties only) module go to the Settings tab and turn on "Pagination". I set the Threshold to 20,000 and I'm all good now.
