Flow Error - Invalid choice value.\n\nA choice field contains invalid data.

Hi all,

One of my flows is reporting and intermittent failure. The flow is set up as follows;

Form response submitted > SharePoint list populated with answers to Forms questions.

The Flow fails intermittently, and then sometimes runs successfully without issue. Each time it fails, the reason for failure is "

Invalid choice value.\n\nA choice field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again.\r\nclientRequestId: 3bc26ff5-d33a-4ffb-b464-60d3b58f37af\r\nserviceRequestId: 3bc26ff5-d33a-4ffb-b464-60d3b58f37af" within the 'create item' SharePoint action.

I have exported the Forms responses to Excel to cross-reference but cannot find a pattern in these failures, and no differences in the failed responses against the successful ones.

I have also found other forum responses on this matter advising that I need to ensure my columns in my list are set up in the correct way e.g. That a response isn't exceeding the character limit but is set to Single Line of Text. All of my columns are set up correctly as they should be to accept the data that is being submitted... and more to the point, have been successful for the other responses.

Please can anyone advise as I have spent hours so far trying to find out the issue and test.

Many Thanks

    I'm experiencing the same issue.  I only have one choice field in my Update Item (SharePoint) action.  I originally had: variables('varArray') but then thought the issue may be that Power Automate didn't like the fact that that field was empty (due to branching in MS Form), so then I tried: if(empty(variables('varArray')),null,variables('varArray'))

    I'm still getting the error:

    {
      "status": 400,
      "message": "Invalid choice value.\n\nA choice field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again.\r\nclientRequestId: a847cd06-8a0b-45a9-8795-a86255efa562\r\nserviceRequestId: a847cd06-8a0b-45a9-8795-a86255efa562"
    }

    I've managed to solve my issue now by changing my 'Choice' field in my SharePoint list to a 'Multiple Lines of Text' field. I think (no expert here) that when all of my choices were selected it was taking it over the 255 character limit and by changing it to multiple lines of text there are no restrictions on characters. However I did think that Choice fields were also limitless on characters.... but who knows, just glad I fixed it and hope that helps you too.

    Is there a solution for this?

    My flow has to update a SharePoint list. There are A LOT of choice fields that I am unable to change.

    It doesn't say which field contains invalid data. I have searching for the issue for weeks.

    The Deal Type in the first column seems to have something to do with it. Only "renewal" deal types are failing, all the other deal types are working as they should.

    Hello!

    My flow has to update approval status of a SharePoint list to reflect outcome, the flow fails every time when it is trying to update status to "Rejected" (the approver rejects), showing " text field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again"

    I don't think it is about "Single/Multiple Lines of Text' fields, since it run successfully in "Approved" scenario to update the Sharepoint List . That is pretty weird... Somebody can help on this? I have been struggling for weeks
