Incorrect lookup value displayed from SharePoint List

Hi Community,

In the picture below, Report ID field is derived with this formula -

If(Form1_3.Mode=FormMode.New, Last(Header3).HeaderID+1, Parent.Default)

What it does is that it will take the last HeaderID number from the SP list "Header3" datasource, then add 1 to it.

In the SP datasource, we can see that the last HeaderID value is 7. As such in the PowerApps form, it should display 8, and not 7.

This has happened many times, and I cannot see what causes this. Kindly advise. Thank you.

Can you try to update the expression to:

If(Form1_3.Mode=FormMode.New, Value(Last(Sort(Header3,HeaderID, Ascending)).HeaderID)+1, Parent.Default)

Note: Please make sure that you are refreshing the datasource everytime a new record is added.
