Power Platform Community Forum Thread Details

Hi,

I have been trying to build a Power Automate Flow that sends out an approval based on an expiration date field that I created SharePoint. I first created a flow based on a reoccurrence trigger however I experienced the infinite loop upon approval and tried creating two separate flows as a work around. The first flow is a reoccurring trigger that changes a multiple choice field to the status of "Pending" based on the date and that is working correctly. I then created a flow that uses the "When a file is created or modified (properties only) to trigger the approval." When the flow gets triggered, the approver (wo is list in the Business Owner column in SharePoint) of the first item that is being sent receives a bunch of emails totaling the number of items meeting the criteria however its only for that one file. Additionally, even though its separate items, the approvals only go out when another document is approved.

I was wondering anyone had any ideas of how to resolve these two issues. I am thinking the fact that all the document status are being updated by the first flow at the same time may be partially causing the issues and am wondering if I could have all items that meet the criteria sent at once it may resolve same approval being sent multiple times issue.

I apologize if this has been answered before but I have hours watching videos and reading forums but am still unable to correct the issue.
