    The error means that the list has more than 500 items you wont get back all results. Usually you should avoid delegaton warnings. But if you know that your list will not hit this limit you are fine.

    What are you trying to achieve?

    look here: Filter, Search, and LookUp functions - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs maybe you could also use Filter instead of search as Filter is delegable (SharePoint - Connectors | Microsoft Docs)

    Not sure if you have tried this but you don't need the "" around the SearchName.Text as I am assuming that is connecting to a text input called SearchName on your screen. It should read:

    Search(StaffList, SearchName.Text, "StaffName")

    You use the quotes around "StaffName" as that is the column name in the table.

    If this is one line of a larger formula (over multiple lines) I have found that an error further down the function can cause the delegation warning to trigger even if the error is not delegation based.

    Hi @Jyde40 ,

    Firstly Search() is not Delegable, so it will only work on the first records in your data set up to your Delegation limit in Advanced Settings (500 but able to be increased to 2,000 maximum). The 5,000 reference is nothing to do with this issue (it is a SharePoint view limit in Classic Experience or at times on unindexed columns).

    So your formula (assuming SearchName is the name of the text box you are using) without the quotes around this

    Search(
     StaffList,
     SearchName.Text,
     "StaffName"
    )

     will work on searching the first nn items up to your limit.

    If you want to get rid of the warning NOTE - this does not fix the limit - just the warning

    With(
     {wStaff:StaffList},
     Search(
     wStaff,
     SearchName.Text,
     "StaffName"
     )
    )

    Would it be possible to use:

    Filter(StaffList, SearchName.Text in "StaffName")

    to avoid the delegation limit?

    @Tricky ,

    Sorry, the in Filter is not Delegable either, however if you are simply looking for a single value, StartsWith() is Delegable.

    Filter(
     StaffList,
     StartsWith(
     StaffName,
     SearchName.Text
     )
    )

     Also if you make the Default of the box "" (empty string), it will show all records until something is typed in.

    HI @WarrenBelz ,

    I'm not the OP so I don't have the option I'm afraid.

    @Jyde40 could you accept the most suitable solution please.
