Hi, I am doing a chain of approbation with approval.

I know that the user can reassign an approval. But what happen if the approver leave he company. Could someone reassign the approval for him?

Kind regards

    Hi @Kesh

The Approval information is stored in the Common Data Service (CDS). A global admin will be able to make modifications to the Approvals entity information but this will require premium licensing to work with CDS + knowledge of underlying CDS entities which handle approvals

Another approach would be to set timeouts on Approval actions (action settings - define timeout period). Advantage of this appoach is that if a user does not respond for a specific duration then you can take futher steps in your Flow. Either auto-reject or approve or create another approval task for another user

    Hi @Kesh ,

You could try to use the second method provided by @RezaDorrani to set the time out. If the approval request is not completed within the specified time, you can directly create a new Approval request as a backup plan.

Please refer to the following image to configure Flow.

You need to set the Configure run after of the second Approval action, and only execute the second Approval action when the previous action is skipped.

    Best Regards,

A better solution is reassigning it through the same API that the Power Automate UI uses.

I have created a custom connector for this. If you want to know how it works, please check this video:

There is one more option which I am using: When creating an approval, add a service account along with the original approver. Select the option of wait for any response. This will send the same approval to original approver and the service account. Now when an approval is stuck, login to the service account and re assign it to the new approver.
