How to populate a choice field from just the label?

Hi,

I currently am using a custom extraction model in Azure Document Intelligence. This is then being used in an Azure logic app to process forms located in a Sharepoint folder and create a table record in a model driven app from the form data.

I am having difficulty trying to map over choice fields. These are present in the documents I am analysing as tick boxes with text labels that directly correlate to the labels of the choice values stored in Dataverse. When analysed by the form recogniser, I only have this label not the numerical representation of the value that is in the Dataverse. Is there anyway I could populate these choice fields with just the labels?

I am aware an approach I could take would be manually mapping the values and labels in an object in my Logic App, however I want to avoid hardcoding data. Another option would be adding the choice value next to the label on the form, with the form reader picking this up, I could then manipulate this in the logic app. Lastly I could change these choice fields to lookups and query the table in the logic app to return the ids, which I belive would work.

Other than these three approaches is there any way I could be doing this more efficiently?

    Hi,

I believe that no matter what you do, you will end up hard coding something. Since its a Choice, and not prone to change much, I would be less concerned about hard coding it as long as it worked.

Normally I don't say that, but in this case, unless you are changing the Choice often, I would do that.

If this were a Flow or Canvas App I'd say no problem, but I am not certain how you would do the same "conversion" you would do in those places.

I guess another option would be to have a flow, that can convert it to the Option Set (choice) value and pass it back to you in an HTTP triggered call.

Apologies, this time I am not certain how best within the Logic App other than those extra option.

    Cheers
