Updating app that has been exported to a production environment.

I've created an app inside a DEV environment. After completing the app I exported the app (and tables) and imported them into a new solution on the PRODUCTION environment. However, a bug was spotted within the app and now I need to fix it. How do I go about updating the app?

Ideal way is to fix the bug in the development environment and deploy the solution into Production environment.

Easiest way is edit the app in production directly and do the same changes in development environment.

The normal method for doing that is to build the App and Tables in a Solution int he Dev environment. Then export the solution from the Dev environment to Production.  You can then go back to Dev and fix any bugs and export a newer version of the solution. When you import that into production it will update the existing solution with the changes.

The easiest way to fix what you have is to export the solution from production as an unmanaged solution. Then import it back into Dev. Then fix the bugs and export a managed solution from Dev. Delete the app and Tables from production and then import the managed solution.  Test this with another solution first and make sure you backup your Tables in some way so you can re-import the data into production after you delete them.  The solution won't keep the data.
