Comparing an Excel Table to a SharePoint List to Update Phase

Hello,

I will try to explain my goal as best I can. I have a sharepoint list that contains roughly 50 columns. People submit list items through this depending on their needs. About 10 columns have to do with topic A, 10 with topic B, 10 with topic C, etc. Each field/column has a phase associated with it. There are 3 phases. In an excel table, I have exported all of the sharepoint list column names, their fields, and the phase associated with them. In my flow, I want to get any list item that was created or modified. I then list the rows present in the table where topic = topic A, I filter that array by phase where phase = phase 1, From there I apply to each and compose the field name, from this I am left with an output of the 10 field names that have to do with topic A and are phase 1. Now I want to check whether each of these fields has a value for the list item in SharePoint. I am running into several issues. For example, I want to be able to update my excel list so that I can change phase, and I don't want to have to put in field or column name and check the value in a condition as there are very many columns. I have tried using the output of compose ColumnNames within the triggerBody()?['@{items('Apply_to_each') or triggerBody()?['ColumnNames'] to say this column in the SharePoint does or does not have a value, but it hasn't worked. Based on this information, I ultimately want to be able to check if the SharePoint list item has a value for every phase 1 column and if so, it will be moved to phase 2. Please help!

    Hi @haileym

could you show excel report looks like ?

Also one logic which i could suggest is to use a array of phase names. once you completed with one phase iteration you can go to next phase, like that 🙂

    Hi Nived,

The excel looks something like this:

Column Name (from sharepoint list)Field (from sharepoint list)PhasePhase1tfPhase2tfPhase3tf
    Catcat3falsefalsetrue

    Dog

    dog1truefalsefalse

    Hi @haileym

One question > for every topic , we have to iterate through all phases as well right ?

    for topic A - phase 1

    for topic A- phase 2

    like that ?

    Thanks & Regards,

Yes, for each topic, we have to iterate through every phrase.

    Thank you

    Hi @haileym

sorry for late reponse, just few more doubts which i have after looking at your flow

    1. I could not find topics in your excel , how will do the filter the topics ?

    2. I see you are using parallel branch in flow design , does each branch represent each topic filtering ?

    Thanks & Regards,

I'm sorry I forgot to add that in when I originally submitted the reply. Yes, each branch is for each topic.

    Thank you

I also feel it is worth mentioning, this isn't the entire excel sheet. Just a snippet. The topics are A,B,C,D, and E.

    Thank you
