I am using PAD for the first time and trying to open an xlsx file that is on my companies SharePoint. The file path looks like:
C:\Users\me\OneDrive - company\General - NA Advanced Engineering_ Labs\Monthly Summary_Master_R1.xlsx
When I try to use the launch excel option, it gives an "Active workbook retrieval error". Of note, this does not open excel but does start the excel process in the task manager. If I try to run it again, Excel shows a dialogue saying that "the file is open in another application. Please close it and try again. PAD gives the error "File related error"
If I try to manually open the file after running the PAD flow, Excel shows the same dialogue saying the file is open in another application. It then shows a second dialogue saying
"Microsoft excel cannot access the file. There are several possible reasons:
* The file name or path does not exist.
* The file is being used by another program.
* The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook."
The only way I can open it again is by going into task manager and forcing the excel process to end.
I discovered that if I exit onedrive, it opens the excel file with no issue! But, the file has autosync, and so it is completely blank.
I have tried repairing MS365, I have restarted my pc, neither work. It seems to be an issue with the fact that the file is synced to onedrive. I am at wits end here, what is going on?
