I have noticed for an app to work Users must have permission to access whatever is being used for a database.

What if we want to keep the information that is in the database as a whole from people? Is there a way for the user to only be able to see what the app lets them see, instead of having the ability to open an entire SharePoint , Excel?

The reason being, is that we really don't want people seeing everything in the database. Also some of our excel workbooks are 50+ pages of custom calculations we would like to keep private.

Hi @Sacred_Totems ,

Power App creates connection to data source and the data inside the data source has to be handled at the data source level. Meaning to say, if you don't want to expose the entire workbook to all the users you can restrict the permissions at the excel level in SharePoint library.

All I see in SharePoint is the ability to set workbooks to Read Only, or Edit... Both of which would allow for the workbooks to be opened.

With Excel and SharePoint the user must have full access, so what you want is not possible.

Move to Sql Server or CMD if you want to control what people are able to do. Also, you should make a custom enviroment, because else all users would be able to use the connection and build there own apps om top of it.
