One field dependent upon a second field in gallery reverts back to default when filtered and then unfiltered

Hi

I have a survey with three fields text (A question) a radio button (does it work ?) and a toggle ( "item modified"  - has the radio button been set by the user so when the gallery is submitted I can just pickup those records which have been modified).

(Thanks to April Dunham for the idea in her video blog)

It all works well and I have the formula in item modified !IsBlank(Working.Selected.Value) which works most of the time.

However, when I filter the gallery (on the text field (question), set the radio button for the filtered item, when I un filter and go back to the full gallery any radio buttons I have set before I did the filter have disappeared.  The filter on the Gallery is thus - Sort(Filter(<text field>, TextSearch.Text  in <text field> )) the standard way when you generate the PowerApp from a datasource.

How can I preserve the value of all of the selected radio buttons when I filter and then come back out of the filter ?

Thanks

Nigel

    Hi @NigelP ,'

This is a known bug with galleries and "unbound" controls, which reset when the gallery is modified (or something triggered from the gallery). If the Items of the gallery is a collection, Add a column (I assume Boolean is required) using AddColumns when creating the collection and Patch the value from the checkbox to this column on the item when the checkbox is modified. Set the Default of the checkbox to this field and then when the gallery refreshes, it will show your value.

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
