Detail Screen Links to Wrong Item

Using the default generation of an app to SPO list, I get the standard Browse, Detail, and Edit screens. As a quick solution, I duplicate the Browse Screen for filtered data.

  • When I click on a record from the default browse screen it works.
  • When I click on a record from the duplicated browse screen, it shows details for whatever was last chosen

For example:

  1. SPO list for locations creates a BrowseGallery1 window for all locations.
If I click on LocationA, I see details for Location A. (LocationB shows details for B, etc.)
  2. If I duplicate BrowseGallery1 window to BrowseGallery2 (filtered by City), and then...
If I click on LocationC, I still see details for Location A (or whatever was last chosen in example 1.

I thought this was due to the Detail Form "Item" referencing BrowseGallery1 on both Browse Screens. So, I duplicated the Detail Screen and ensure it referenced BrowseGallery2 from the duplicated Browse screen, but it still did the same thing.

Hopefully, I'm just overlooking something obvious. I wouldn't want to duplicate the same formatted detail window for all filtered search windows. Any ideas?

What is showing details form is determined by the formula in the Item property of the DetailForm1. Which by default is BrowseGallery1.Selected. If you copied BrowseGallery1 then the copy is just navigating to the DetailScreen1 which form is defaulted to BrowseGallery1.Selected.

I think the easiest solution might be to set a variable for the selected gallery item and then use the variable in the item property of the DetailedForm1 and EditForm1 forms. You would also need to change OnSlect of the arrow in both galleries to set the variable before navigating to the DetailedScreeen1

    Example:

    BrowseScreen1 > BrosweGallery1 > NextArrow1 = Set(gvSelectedItem, BrowseGallery1.Selected);Navigate(DetailScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

    BrowseScreen1 > BrosweGallery2 > NextArrow2 = Set(gvSelectedItem, BrowseGallery2.Selected);Navigate(DetailScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

    DetailScreen1 > DetailedForm1 > Item = gvSelectedItem

    EditScreen1 > EditForm1 > Item = gvSelectedItem

Thank you, Jeff, for the reply. While I will be unable to edit this app for a while - as I'm tied up with some other projects, this would make sense as the solution and I'm marking it as such. I was fairly sure there was a reference to the copied Gallery, and you clarified that. Thanks again!
