I created a custom app with the Tablet layout and I was wondering if I can use that as the default View for the SharePoint List that it was created from. I know that we can now create a the app directly from the SharePoint List bu that auto creates app with the phone layout. Any suggestions?

Setting up the PowerApps app as a SharePoint List view is not yet available. It is however a feature that the SharePoint team is working on and they announced it last week in the following blog: https://blogs.office.com/2016/10/31/sharepoint-welcomes-powerapps-and-microsoft-flow/
