On NTFS file system I would setup a folder with Everyone Create and Owner Edit permissions. I don't think this is possible with SharePoint List? I need users via PowerApps to be able to create a record / row for themselves and come back later and edit their own data. The issue is I need to secure the data so that users can't see each others. If this is a SharePoint list the link could leak and then the data would be visible. Even if I use an excel file the users all need edit rights which imply view. I could easily do this in SQL but the licensing issues with that now make it cost prohibitive for a small app. This seems like a common issue, is there an easy solution I am missing?

Hi Brian. Yes, the trick is to break inheritance permissions.
Take a look at this article on doing so. It works well.

Thanks for that pointer. In those instructions it is not clear to me if I run that once or everytime an item is created? Do I trigger it after item creation somehow?
The Flow trigger is "when an item is created or modified" (step 2 in the article, second paragraph).
This is a standalone flow and it just runs when the item is created or modified and sets the permissions.
The only real risk is this...Flow is not immediate in all cases and may take up to a minute or more to actually execute. So, technically, the record that was written is vulnerable until the flow runs.
