No delegation warning in app designer, delegation warning in debug session.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a formula for which there is no delegation warning in the app designer. When I play the app however in a debug session, it gives me a delegation warning on the formula.

Which one should I believe?

Here's the formula:

With(
 {
 YearStartDate: Date(Year(Today()), 1, 1),
 YearEndDate: DateAdd(Date(Year(Today()), 1, 1), 1, TimeUnit.Years),
 MonthStartDate: Date(Year(Today()), Month(Today()), 1),
 MonthEndDate: DateAdd(Date(Year(Today()),Month(Today()),1),1,TimeUnit.Months),
 _preFilter:
 Filter(Projects_1,
 'Opportunity Status'.'Dashboard Sold Display' = "yes",
 Status = 'Status (Projects_1)'.Active
 )
 },
Text(
 Coalesce(
 Sum(
 Filter(
 _preFilter,
 'OP Status Service Ticket Sold Date' >= YearStartDate,
 'OP Status Service Ticket Sold Date' < YearEndDate
 ),
 'Project Value'
 ),
 0),"[$-en-US]$###,##0"
 )

)

    Usually happens in the With blocks I've seen some odd things. Looks like it might be in the Status = part. What is the 'Status (Projects_1)'.Active? Probably just needs to be a a value of some kind. But also keep in mind, even if it's delegable, it can only return the max records set to the _prefilter (500 default) to be used in the with. It's possible it could be warning about that as well.

    Easiest way to test is pull out the _preFilter filer, and put it in a gallery control items and then you can set the delegation items down to a low number like 5 and see if it still returns the proper records or not.

    Thanks so much @cwebb365

    Hmmm, are you saying that With is subject to the delegation limit I set for the app (500 by default, but up to 2000)?, or is the scope of With limited by some other setting?

     I'm just saying in general. But because you are created a "Temp" table basically with the _pre variable. It can only query the delegable number of records into that variable. So even if it is delegable, if that Filter returns say 520 filtered records out of 20000 possible if it's delegable. Your With statement will only return 500 of those 520. (or 520 if setting is increased, but if you have 2010 records in the _pre then you'll be short 10).

    Hope I'm making sense lol.

    @BertP

    Always test for delegation issues by reducing the row limit to one in the  settings. Delegation is not always flagged but this will pick it up.

    Thanks again @cwebb365 & @Drrickryp .

    Hmmm, @cwebb365 , I'm not sure I fully get what you're saying. Say the _prefilter filter statement is fully delegable, am I right in thinking With will then also be fully delegable?

    Your _pre filter can never contain more records than your delegation setting, regardless if it's delegable or not. I'm just giving you warning to consider that.

    As for if the one you are using is or isn't, need to break it out and just test it by itself with a static value and make sure the results are what you expect. And you can tell by setting your delegation limit to 1. You will get more than one record if it's delegable.
