Sending an email about a teams message if no one is mentioned in the message

We use Teams to communicate with our clients. We have many, many Teams channels assigned to individual clients. Some of our clients are very inconsistent about using the "mention" feature within Teams and it can be easy to overlook or miss a message from that client when this happens.

I would like to build a Power Automate flow that sends an email to myself when any client posts a message that does not include a mention. Attached to this post is an image of the flow I have built so far; the flow does not work. How do I accomplish my goal?

Hi @OldRed1

the message mentions dynamic content is a list, if there are no mentions, it would be like [] , an empty list so to validate whether the mentions are there or not use length() around message mentions dynamic content like below

I will test this now! How did you know to add this part? triggerOutputs()?['body/mentions']

I was trying to use the Dynamic Content options, but clearly that was not the right path to go. I would never have thought to use the Length function as you did.

From the image you provided, it appears that the code triggerOutputs()?['body/mentions'] corresponds with Message Mentions. How did you figure that out? Is there documentation that contains this information?

Actually i thought it would be one since the name of dynamic content itself suggest that.

Else, i would have looked through the json structure of output of trigger to get the details 🙂

After all, its all experimenting with things 😅
