PowerApps Error - GetData -> Get Data from Excel

Hi,

I want to import data into a custom entity created in CDS PowerApps from an Excel file. (look at attachment)

However as soon as i click on Get Data from Excel, i get the following error.

The import service is not available: Connection set initialization failed for project DMImport_2018_06_14T06_09_44_117Z. Error: Connection set name DM_CdsToFile_d8d59e7689074138a9ba34c57e1f40f7_EeLane Yu is not valid. Verify that no non-word characters are in the connection set name.

Hi @Laney,

Please try to change another way to import the data:

Next to New entity, click the ellipsis, and then click or tap Import data.

Select the entity that you want to import data into, and then click or tap Next.

Click or tap Search. Select the file that you want to import data from.

If the Mapping Status is not Match with a green check mark, then you will need to specify the mapping between the entity fields and the columns in the Excel file. To map the columns:

Click or tap Show Mapping.

For each entity field, select the matching column in the Excel file.

Click or tap Save changes.

Click Import.

In addition, when I select the ellipsis beside the custom entity, it shows like below which is different from your screenshot:

Also, please try with other enities to have a test.

Thanks for the response.
I tried accessing it from the ellipsis (...) of other entities and also a different environment but I still see smiliar options and encounter the same error

I'm getting the same issue, I have " (ALN)" at the end of my user name, my co worker does not so he can do it!.

Also having issues when trying to connect using the other data methods, such as CSV. That too gives a credentials error.

HI,

I have the same issue when trying to get data from excel in a test environment.
The weird thing is that Im able to get the data when I try from my default environment.
Have you found a solution for this?

I got the same situation with a slightly different error message:

The import service is not available: Connection set initialization failed for project DMImport_2018_11_07T09_55_27_335Z. Error: Service principal couldn't be written.

This error occurs on a development type environment. On a trial type and on production type it works fine.
