Delegation warning. The highlighted part of this formula might not work correctly with column "{{Moderation Status}}" on large data sets.

I'm building a power app and on the items property of a gallery I'm filtering on a document library based on "{{Moderation Status}}" and i get the error

"Delegation warning. The highlighted part of this formula might not work correctly with column "{{Moderation Status}}" on large data sets."

 What does this mean and how do i get around this?

The item property is

Filter(purchase_invoices,'{ModerationStatus}' <> "Approved")

Thanks

    Hi @resolver101757 ,

    The does not equal <> filter is not Delegable. The best way around this is to state all the Status values that you are looking for (example)

    Filter(
     purchase_invoices,
     '{ModerationStatus}' = "Pending" ||
     '{ModerationStatus}' = "Rejected" ||
     '{ModerationStatus}' = "Cancelled"
    )

    which would be Delegable. I have  a blog on Delegation that may assist.

    Can I just confirm I understand Delegable correctly.   Delegable means power apps can pass the filter to SharePoint to filter which reduces the amount of records returned.  Non delegable means you receive all the records back to PowerApps and power apps filters locally.  Power apps has a limit to the amount of records its can process so its better to pass the filter on?

    Sorry I didn't see your blog on delegation the first read.  I still get the same warning with the code suggested?  I even shortened it to below and still get the message.  Does that mean ModerationStatus isn't delegable or am I doing something wrong?

    Filter(
    purchase_invoices,'{ModerationStatus}' = "Pending"
    )

    @resolver101757 ,

    What type of field is '{ModerationStatus}'? You should not get a Delegation warning if it is a Single Line of Text.

    im not sure what type of column it is.  Its a system column thats enabled when approvals are enabled.  Its not one that I've created myself and i cant see it in the library settings.  Any thoughts how to get around this?

    Also i want to work with a column called history but cant be see when i use filter which im guessing is to do with delegation.

    When I enter the following into gallery.items i cant see the column history :

    Filter(
    purchase_invoices,'{ModerationStatus}' = "Pending"
    )

    When I enter the following into gallery.items I can see a text column called history

    purchase_invoices

     Thanks
