Condense Multiple control actions with apply to each

Posted on by 24
Hello,
I am using a form with over 100 questions and as of right now my flow works but editing it is super slow and annoying. A section of the flow will have actions for each form question which it checks if it has an answer or not. If it does then it adds a row to my excel table. Once I reached about 70 of these "Check" actions the page becomes "Unresponsive" and you have to wait for it to load. I was wondering if there is a solution to apply to each question: Is it answered? if yes then, add row to excel and input Question text and answer in that row. Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

The final result in Excel is this inputting the form question which has the part number and description and the user inputs the qty. Right now the part number and description are hardcoded and matched up with the corresponding question on the form. Hence the 100+ Actions like the above screen shot.

    Hi,

Thanks for the responses, but i could not get one point here -

Also does the column name in excel for form responses field corresponds to name of field in MS forms ?
yes it does. the name of the question is the column labeled item. only the quantity is input from the form.

what you meant by this highlighted point ?

before explaining the solution - i want to know one thing-  how the rows are added to excel ? I add row via connector

does some fields are hardcoded and other field in excel are dynamically filled via form responses ? yes but they dont have to be.

    Hi,

another approach would be to get list of questions and their associated ID and iterate through each. This can be done via form api to get the questions and their corresponding id.

    Hi,

It is possible, but you have to work with the body of the response details to extract only the responses from the form and generate an array to iterate through with a condition to check if it is blank or not. That would be my approach.

    Hope this helps.
    Anthony
