populate fieds fom a search

I am trying to make a travel expense app for the emloyees at work.

We have 2 sharepoint lists. 

 

1. Projects. (projectNumber, ProjectTitle, Adress, Project leader) about 5000 records

2 Travelexpence. (projectNr. ProjectTitle, Adress, Leader, cost)

 

I want the user to be able to Search a projectnumber ore title ore wathever from the Project list, and autofill the result in to the fields for the trawelexpense form.

the only thing he have to type in is the cist and click submit 

is this even posible?

    I think this should be possible. You could have a Gallery control populated with items from "Projects" and read only fields bound to Gallery1.Selected.ProjectN, Gallery1.Selected.ProjectTitle and so on, plus an empty (non read only) field for Count.  At very least, you could have a text field for the search string and a drop down list for possible options (search by Title, Number and so on).

    I would suggest to start by using the wizard to create an app from the "Projects" table (or list). The first screen of that app would have most of the required functinoality that you could modify as you need. The rest of the screens can be deleted from that app.
