Trying to add Choices to a Dropdown that can be used to select more than one choice, maybe with a variable?

Afternoon, I hope I can articulate this correctly.  But basically, I have a SP list feeding a Power App.  On the App i have it filter depending what is chosen on the dropdown.  However, I would like to Add 3 or 4 more Items from that dropdown, that isn't a standard choice, but a bundle of other options, if that makes sense.

I have created a collection, I tried using Key, Value, and Table, nothing is doing it for me.  I have been able to Add the new choices, but don't know how to connect the options to each choice.

So, here's my example, and any advice or additional questions you have, hit me.

Dropdown has all Customers Office Symbols; at the top of that list, I'd like to add "Test 1" "Test 2" etc.  (I am currently only trying to get 1 to work now, and then I feel I can replicate.)  When I run the app, I want to choose Test 1 and it filters the gallery to the various symbols connected to Test 1, otherwise if they click 1 symbol, it works as it is today.

I am just hitting a wall, I have my collection being built on App Start, as well as a Variable, however, when i go to the dropdown, i call the collection, which shows everything, then add the new field and it just blanks everything out, haven't figured out how to tie the choices to it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @ThommyGunn,

    Do you want to add new options to your dropdown list and filter based on this new options?

    Could you please tell me that how you set the Dropdown control Items and how you create this collection?

    Is it a Dropdown box or ComboBox?

    If you could filter the gallery to the various symbols connected to Test 1, which is the new added option,well, it represents you have test1 option existing in your list, so that you could filter it.

    Then why you need to manually add this option to your dropdown list, clearly you already have this option in your data source.

    Hello @v-qiaqi-msft ,

    Thanks for taking the time to respond, i hope i can paint a better picture for you today.

    Here is what i have in APP Start for the collection:

    ClearCollect(colCustomerSort, Sort('OS Project Tracker'.RequestorsOffice, RequestorsOffice.Value, SortOrder.Ascending));
     ClearCollect(colCustomerClear, Distinct(colCustomerSort, ThisRecord.RequestorsOffice.Value));

    This is what is on the Dropdown and yes its a Dropdown not a Combo Box (Maybe thats my issue?):

    colCustomerClear

    And lastly, here is what is on my galleries (4 total) as my filter (RequestorOffice is 3rd one down):

    Sort(
     Filter(
     'OS Project Tracker',
     ProjectCategory.Value = "Requested",
     IsBlank(OSDivisionDD.Selected.Value) Or OSDivision.Value = OSDivisionDD.Selected.Value,
     IsBlank(ProjectLeadDD.Selected.Value) Or ProjectLead.DisplayName = ProjectLeadDD.Selected.Value,
     IsBlank(RequestorOfficeDD.Selected.Value) Or RequestorsOffice.Value = RequestorOfficeDD.Selected.Value,
     IsBlank(ProjectCycleDD.Selected.Value) Or ProjectStatus.Value = ProjectCycleDD.Selected.Value,
     IsBlank(varPrioritySort) Or DirectorChiefPriority = varPrioritySort,
     IsBlank(varDiscussionSort) Or NeedsAssistance = varDiscussionSort,
     IsBlank(BoardApprovalDD.Selected.Value) Or 'Board Review' = BoardApprovalDD.Selected.Value

     ),
     RequestSort,
     SortOrder.Descending
    )

    So with all that said, basically im creating the collection from the RequestorsOffice on APP Start and putting them in alphabetical order.  Then the dropdown lists them in order and I can choose one which will then filter my Galleries to that.  It works, no issues.  Users like it and have been using it for a while now.  But my boss asked me within that dropdown, if its possible to Add a new choice, like GStaff or MLRC and when that is selected, it will auto filter for ALL the offices within that area, ex GStaff = G1, G2/6, G4, G8, etc.  They do not want to be able to click on multiple choices, that was one of my questions to them, they want to be able to only select one at a time.

    So, in my head I thought, easy, create a collection, then a variable that's called Gstaff or MLRC and have it call those other offices, when I did that, and add it into my dropdown, all it does is blank everything out.  I then realized, I have nothing connecting that new choice to that variable or whatever else I could use.

    So that's my question, is it possible to create a new option, put it at the top of the dropdown, then when selected it selects the offices tied to that selection and filters to show them?

    Hope that makes more sense, appreciate your time.

    Josh
