Send an email with an attachment when a file is created on an on-premise file system

I would like to create a Flow which sends an email with an attachment (the file which was created) when a file is created on an on-premise file system (as long as the file name contains certain characters).

I have tried using the SharePoint based one of the same type but am not sure how it should be configured when it is an on-premise file system instead of SharePoint.

Any assistance would be gratefully received!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi there,

I think if you use the "File System" connector as your trigger, you should be able to start the Flow from on-premises data.  You will need the On-Premises Data Gateway, too.

As far as sending the file, there is also an action from the same connector to "Get file content"...I'm wondering if that will help.

    Keep us posted.

    Thanks!

    Hi @soiauk ,

I was confused about your issue.

If you the file is created in file system, you just use the File sysytem connector.

If the file is Created in SharePoint, you just use the SharePoint connector.

    Thanks Zhongys,

Your post is really useful because I just wasn't sure on the settings / dynamic content to use for each step. On the Get File Content stage what setting do you use?

Also ideally I only want to sent an email if the file name of the file which has been created contains the words ORDERS-S, is there a way to do that? I tried with a couple of variables but wasn't sure which one the File System connector would use?

    Thanks again for your help!
