Display all users in a specific group AND Display all groups that a specific user is in

Hi, everyone. I am BRAND NEW to Power Apps and have been tasked with replacing an old application that someone built years ago with a Power App. Here is what I need it to do:

  1. I need to display all users in a specific group. I would like to have a dropdown (or whatever works best) of all of our AD groups where once I select a group, it displays all the users (or groups) that are in that group.
  2. I need another section of the app that displays all the groups that a user is in. I would like to have either an open text box where I can type their user id (eg. bmbis) OR a dropdown with all user accounts that I can select from and then once I select a user I would like to see all the groups they are in.

I have been working on this all day trying to figure pieces of this out using the AzureAD connector and both the Office 365 Users and Office 365 Groups connectors and am coming up dry.

I am not asking for anyone to do this for me, I love learning this stuff... but can you possibly point me in the right direction? Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

    Hi @brandonb23 ,

    This blog of mine may assist, but if you are new to Power Apps, all of this may be quite a challenge to you.

    Thanks @WarrenBelz, I will take a look! I know it's going to be challenging but I have been immersing myself in some trainings so I am hoping I can figure this out. Question for you, is what I want to do even possible with Power Apps?

    I did already read up on how to display the groups that logged in user either owns or is a part of by using

    Office365Groups.ListOwnedGroupsV3().value

    So now my next question related to that is, is it possible to get that same list for another user? I have a text input field (TextInput2) that I would like to type the users name into and then have the gallery display the groups for that user. Is this possible?

    Hi @brandonb23 ,

    I have never tried (or needed to), but I suspect for security reasons it is not possible.

    Interesting. I don't see why it would be a security risk for an AD Admin to view all of the groups that a specific user is in, I would think there has to be a way, I'll keep digging.
