Missed flow using Power Automate desktop trial version

Hi,

I was using Power Automate desktop in trial mode. When saving the server connection was lost and the app gave an error. When I logged in again the flow was missed.

Any advice?

Thanks,

A.

None - As the editor is not autosaving...

I forget to mention that the flow was previously saved.

There is only one place where I can find anything is here C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\Console\Workspace

But I don't think you can use it for anything.

I think you have to start all over.

I think there is an easier solution, but let’s do something first, in case this doesn’t work.  As @Highboy @mentioned, go here: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop. Copy the whole folder somewhere safe, like your desktop. If the below doesn’t work, we will look around in this after.

after you have copied that folder outside the app data folder, follow below.

So, closing PAD and opening it again doesn’t actually restart PAD. By default, it continues to run in the background. Try closing PAD, and then go to Ctrl Alt Del and go to Task Manager. There will still be a PAD process. Right click and end task on that. Now open PAD, and hopefully your flow will be there.

Ok, so we will try to recover what we can.

In that folder I told you to copy, Go to the Designer Folder and then Temp; should look like this:

    MichaelAnnis_1-1638987827653.png

Look for the most recent file (or around the time when you lost this), you can see my most recent file is the "jlh..."

Inside, you should have one called script.robin

Open a blank notepad file, then drag the script.robin file into the notepad, and that should open it.  If not, in notepad, go to File -> Open, navigate to this same folder and open the script.robin file.

Here, you should see the underlying code for the flow.  Example:

    MichaelAnnis_2-1638988089262.png

"FUNCTION" represents a new flow.  You can only copy one subflow at a time.

So, if you see a "FUNCTION" line, create a new subflow in PAD, call it the same, and then everything below FUNCTION to END FUNCTION, copy that and paste the text in the subflow...you should see all the actions pop up.  You may lose some UI's or images, but the actions inside of each subflow will be recovered.

Thank you very much Michael. Unfortunately the temp folder is empty, even the one I copied out. 😞

I have created a new Flow but I can't find config file neither in Workspace or Temp dir. They are completely empty.

Am I looking in right folders?

    C:\Users\administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\Designer\Temp

    A.
