I have a pretty Standard system that I'm working on
- I have a Sharepoint List that I created with Microsoft Lists. It's in a SharePoint Site that is used by many people in my company.
- I have A Power App that allows users to modify Data in the List.
- I have Some Flows in Power Automate that are activated by the PowerApp to facilitate actions from the App to the list.
The issue is that the Sharepoint Site is managed by my team, but it is accessed by many users in our company. This has been generally fine, we have edit access and general users have read access.
But now comes the complication with the Development of this PowerApp. All of the users are going to need to be able to Use this PowerApp to edit the data in the list. But at the same time I don't want anyone other than my team to be able to any editing to the other parts of Sharepoint site. I also don't want them to be able to interact with the List directly, only through the PowerApp.
The Problem is that it seems that the Levels of Permissions are only Granted Globally across the Sharepoint Site. If I want people to be able to use the PowerApp, I have to grant them "Edit" permissions for the entire Sharepoint Site, which is obviously a problem if there are parts of the site I want for my team and parts that are for general users.
- How do I make it so that People can only have Edit Permissions for the List, and not the rest of the SharePoint site?
- How do I make it so that they can only edit the list by Using the PowerApp, and cannot simply go into the List and start Editing Rows?
