Dropdown Keep Last Selected Variable from Sharepoint List

Hi,

I have been trying to update a dropdown so that it will remember the users last selection while the app is open, only as a temporary value during that session otherwise to set to a default.

The dropdown list contains Staff Names and I have tried using a check against the the current signed in user and also a set value after a dropdown selection has been made to filter a gallery that has the associated staff related information, otherwise a default of All is provided.

The issue I have experienced is that the dropdown always defaults back to All, which is the first option in a Sharepoint list, regardless after I have left the screen, by using  button to go to a page and and return to the screen by another button.

I have check and the set value does contain text and when filtered separately in the gallery it does use the set value, which indicates it is likely something in the dropdown settings.

My default code is as folllows:

If(
!IsBlank(StaffName),
StaffName,
!IsEmpty(
Filter(collectStaffNames.Name,
Name = User().FullName
)
),
User().FullName,
"All"
)

Any thoughts on what could be causing the dropdown to reset to default of All would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

    HI,

    I am not sure if any of this works for you but here are two things.

    1) SharePoint has versioning that will track all changes to 5000 and over built in if it is turned on.

    2) create a second field in SharePoint. copy the selected value into memory variable on load, then if there is a change you can copy the memory variable into the new field then it is always showing last changed and the last value.
