How to send an email "with options" and with the ability to "send from a shared mailbox".

It seems MSFT builders lack standardization across the various commands to send an email inside Power Automate.

Send an email with options:

great option as you can send an email for end-users receiving it to make a decision or report out on 1 of many "user options" placed into the email body.

It lacks the ability or to send from another user or shared mailbox. (i.e. the "From (send as)" field found in other email options.

Send an email (V2)

is great and allows sending from another user/shared mailbox, but lacks ability to place options into the message body as above.

Send an email from a shared mail box (V2)

is great to send from another user/shared mailbox. It also includes the option to designate a "send reply to" email in there if you work with others out of common shared mailbox. However, this lacks ability to include the options in the body.

Seems to me MSFT could improve these by standardizing them to include the same options: all should allow a field to send from a shared mailbox, designate a "send reply to" email, while including the ability to send email with options across all 3 commands.

Where would we make this recommendation and get it upvoted? Does anyone have a work around to use both "send email w/ options" and from another email address "From (send as)"? Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    The main issue is that the response to the email with options doesn’t return to the shared mailbox in a way that the workflow can recognize and process it properly. Shared mailboxes are designed to be accessed by multiple users, but they don’t have their own credentials. This can complicate the tracking of responses because the responses are typically tied to the credentials of the user who sent the email.

    @David MA,

    So you're indicating that even though a "shared mailbox" is accessible my several people,  when they try to send an email from said shared mailbox, its actually sends from an individual org/business email address?   Seems the tracking of responses to/from a shared mailbox is possible as there is a "sent folder"...  similar to an individual user and sent folder.

    Another way of saying this is that messages can be sent to and received by a shared mailbox for access by those with permissions, but sending from it isn't possible - and this is linked to the individual user/sender for outgoing mail..   (even though it has a sent from option and sent folder)

    Or is this somehow indicating that perhaps using the "send from a shared mailbox" in power automate is more a disguise - even though a sent folder exists.

    As an individual with permissions to shared box, I can choose to send as an individual org address, or to send from shared box address by designating this address in the drop down box from within Outlook using "from" within the message.     Not sure how this creates tracking issues if all the tools are there and a sent box exists for individuals and shared boxes.

    ninjaryder1st I don't remember the exact technical details as it was explained to me from someone at Microsoft, but unless something has changed it is not technically possible to use a shared mailbox with the e-mail with options feature because of how the workflows run on the owner's account and how shared mailboxes are configured. This is why there is no action in Power Automate to send an e-mail with options from a shared mailbox.
