Dynamic Dropboxes filtering from multiple choice lines.

Hello everyone.

I am building a help desk application which involves Category, Sub-Category and Person sections.

Categories like software, hardware or non-technical issues. These categories would be broken down in to more specific issues and would be displayed dynamically in the drop down boxes.

I got the sub categories showing based on what category is selected working just fine. I've used this command :

Filter('Sub-Categories',Category.Id = Dropdown1.Selected.ID).ID

The person would then have multiple of each of these sub-categories and then you could select a person for the task.

I've tried using similar code, however it comes up with an error saying "Invalid argument type"

Any suggestions?

    Hi @MariusG96 ,

You can try the below (also valid format)

    Filter('Sub-Categories',Category.Id = Dropdown1.Selected.ID, ID)

I assume the .ID comes from a collection

    Filter(Employees,SubCategory.Id = Dropdown3.Selected.ID, ID)

Sorry for not specifying the code I've tried, but the one you've suggested returns with the same error.

To clafiry: Sub-Category has a look-up for category and emplyoees has a look-up for sub-category WITH ability to have multiple selections

    Hi @MariusG96 ,

Interesting as I just tried the same on a test app with ID matches and it worked. Maybe someone else in our group has some ideas

Employees can have many different sub-categories and it just doesn't show any employees. The exact same code you've used has a squiggly line right underneath "=" saying "Invalid argument type.". There might be a different way of filtering columns that can have multiple choices, but I haven't found it.
