Comparing Excel values against a SharePoint list for updates

Hey everyone,

So my end goal is to have a SharePoint lists that accurately reflects a regularly emailed Excel sheet.

I already have the flow to save the attachment, and one to check if Excel records are in the SharePoint list or not; new ones are added. I can't figure out how to get Flow to check for differences between records in the Excel sheet and SharePoint and THEN update the SharePoint. I can get it to update everything . . . but then it takes 5 days to run.

Any suggestions on how to compare the two data sets?

Hi @Anonymous,

Please provide a screenshot of your flow. How many data do you have in the Excel table?

To get Flow to check differences between records in Excel and SharePoint list, you could try to add a Condition to check whether they have the same value.

To test this issue, I created a flow likes below, please take it for a reference:

I thought about that but I'm using ~30 columns. I was hoping for a method that wouldn't require so many steps. It's a good fallback though!

Hello @v-yamao-msft

This is something that I am looking at doing, I want to identify the differences between records in Excel and SharePoint list, using a unique field Job Reference, and if I find any differences I want to send an email to accounts rather than update the SharePoint list.

I've started to configure my flow, but I'm not sure what I should be putting in Key Value

Would you mind pointing me in the right direction please, and any further points to get my flow to work.

I've also considered getting the information from a SharePoint List and checking the Excel list by entering the SharePoint ID Number as an option, what are your thoughts on this?
