Hello,

I might have a silly question - how do I share a table in Dataverse with an user? The table is consumed by Power App portal and Power App.

I am finding a guidance how to do it, but when I am using Dataverse for Teams. This is not the case with my solution. Please advice.

Cheers

@Portal, dataverse, permission

    Hi @dvoinikat

Pre: In Power Apps Portal management:

    1. Create web roles (Ex: TableUsers)

    2. Create a new web page and add an entity list and link your table which you have created.

    3. Create table permissions for your custom table

From the Power Apps Portal point of view, the easiest way is to request the user to sign in via Azure AD into the portal. Once contact is created assign a web role that will allow the added users to access only the table which you have created.

If you are not after any of the above, then you can simply add the user as the "Basic user" of your environment. This will allow your users can see your tables.

    Hope it helps.

@ragavanrajan, thank you for the guidance. Unfortuantelly I still need some explanation. Why should I create a new web page? And more or less I am confused with the entity list requirement.

I already have a portal created consuming Dataverse tables and now I want to share those with the Power App users I have.
What I did so far - I created the new web role and created table pemission for the table. The App is still throwing an error though.

Can you please provide further guidance?

    Hi @dvoinikat

The answer depends on your approach and security consideration for users. As mentioned, you can add your users straight into your environment as a "Basic user". The drawback of this method is All your Dataverse tables will be exposed and there is a high risk of data leak and something might go wrong.

The second method is using portals, in this way, you can create a web page and the relevant table as "Entity list" and control user permissions through web roles.

If you would like to share those tables with Power Apps users, then either you create a gallery and link your table and give appropriate access or you can embed your canvas app into the portal and control through security.

Hope it can shed some light on your thoughts.

    Hope it helps.
