Hi,

I'm trying to find out why my flow doesn't work anymore?

It was working 2 weeks ago and no modification was done unless the email adress of the Assigned to at the Start an approval step.

Now I've got a Failed status and the error is :

The execution of template action 'For_each' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@body('Start_an_approval')?['body']?['responses']' is of type 'Null'. The result must be a valid array.

Does anyone have an idea ?

Hello and sorry you are having this issue,

Question: Are you recording each of the responses?

I am only asking because it is possible that responses can be NULL, if there is a time out or other issue.
If you only care about the Outcome, then I would change the check to Outcome and the issue should go away, or if you need to track each response, then you should add a NULL check before you try to you is, and still check the Outcome to verify if it was approved or not.

I wonder if there are people for whom are assigned into the request (approvers) whom are now maybe not in the company anymore? Try to validate that everyone getting it is available / accurate still.

Hi @FLMike

One question, if approval part got timeout, does the flow itself would result in error due to the approval timeout ?

Hi,

Yes, I need to record the information in a SharePoint list.
Here are the steps that need to be done by the Flow:

1- Creating a notice (email and Teams) to say that a form has been submitted
2- Form data is entered into a SharePoint list
3- An approval must be made by me
4- An email to give the answer must be sent to the applicant who submitted the form and to an email box of another team for them to process the rest of the request.
5- The SharePoint list must be updated with the status accepted or denied, the date and the name of the approver.

Hi @JacB ,

Looking at your second screenshot , I think you need to have correct reference to the output array that comes from the Approvals action.

Have checked what output/(s) you are getting in the approvals action?

Are you sure that you are passing the correct input array to apply to each?

The issue is you have a \n on the email which has been converted as part of the string, but thats invalid to have the \ in the string and not escaped
