ERROR: Registering Cloud Flow to Canvas App error ‘Failed during http send request’.
Steps to create error: Simple cloud flow inside a solution that uses the ‘Power Apps (V2)’ button trigger. The flow contains a Connection Reference for a custom connector. Choosing a SPECIFIC connection in the ‘Run only users’ tab of the Flow for the ‘Connections Used’ (see first screenshot below) causes the flow to break in the Canvas App and throw errors (Flows using that custom connector connection only). We are then unable to re-register the Cloud Flow to the Canvas App and see the ‘Failed during http send request’ error mentioned above. No further error details provided
Some additional information:
Same user who created the Canvas App, Custom Connector, Connector Reference and Connection. It is this same user who is trying to register the flow inside the canvas app. The Canvas App, Custom Connector, and Connection Reference are ALL part of the solution.
Tested with sharing the connection and the Flow Run Only permissions with the entire org. Did not resolve the error.
When setting the ‘run only users -> Connections Used’ to ‘provided by run time user’ we are able to register the flow with the canvas app. Setting the ‘Connections Used’ back to the specific connection recreates the error.
Saw this error in the Dev environment AND the test environment.
Flows that do not use custom connector and its connection reference ARE NOT having issues.
Confirmed that the JSON schemas between the following actions have NO BEARING on the error: ‘Parse JSON’, ‘Response Success’, ‘Response ERROR’. All schemas match and are appropriate.
Happens for a custom connector that uses an API key to create the connection AND for a custom connector that uses anonymous authentication but using a data gateway.
