Site Environment variable pointing to Dev Set in managed solution

Hello everyone,

I'm in need of assistance with a recent issue that has cropped up in my production application. Suddenly, I'm encountering the following error: "Error when trying to retrieve data from the network: List not found." My application relies on SharePoint lists as its data source.

Upon delving deeper into this problem, I checked the logs and discovered that the getData calls are erroneously pointing to the Development site instead of the Production site where my lists are stored. What's perplexing is that I haven't made any recent changes to trigger this shift. My deduction is that the issue lies within my Site Environment variable, which seems to be pointing to the Development site instead of Production. However, I'm at a loss as to how to switch it back to the correct setting.

To provide some context, I have three environments: Dev, Test, and Prod, and all solutions are deployed using Pipeline Orchestrator. Both Prod and Test environments are managed, which means I cannot edit them directly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify this issue? I'm eager to find a solution that doesn't involve deleting my solution from Prod and redeploying it from scratch, as that would generate a new unique ID for the application. Your insights and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @Rinalds33

You can go to the Power Apps maker portal, select Solutions, and then select Default Solution. You should see a list of all the environment variables in your environment, including the ones from the managed solution. You can then select the Site Environment variable and edit its current value to point to the Production site.

    Hi @SpongYe ,
Thank you for your quick response, but this will create an unmanaged layer for specific environmental variables won't it?

    Hi @Rinalds33

You can use the first option I suggested not neccassary, which is to update the Current Value of the Environment Variable in the Default Solution of the Prod environment. This will not create an unmanaged layer, but it will also not affect any other environments that use the same Managed Solution

    There is also a workaround:

You can change the value of the Environment Variable Values through Excel though. This works also for managed solutions.

    1. Open Power Apps portal
    2. Go to Data -> Tables on the left
    3. Open the "Environment Variable Value" table
    4. Click "Open data in Excel" from the Toolbar
    5. Open the downloaded Excel sheet
    6. Click the "Enable Editing" in the warning bar in Excel
    7. Login to the environment in the right pane if you have to
    8. The data of all the variables are now loaded, make the required changes
    9. In the right pane click "publish" at the bottom
    10. Done!
