How to limit multi-person column in canvas to certain department?

Hi all,

I have a person column with multiple selection. Users should only select people from their department in this column. The department it is contained in the DisplayName. Is this even possible in cloud version (we have no Office365.Search...)?

The option to change the column type is not being considered yet; many flows need to be redone.

    Hi George, the most ideal way which I haven't done yet at my employment is to use the AD connection where

    you can get those employees in the department you want and then use that as the data source instead of the

    officeUsers full drop down.     The last time I looked at the connector, it required an account that had AD access -

    I didn't need that type of functionality so I stopped there.   The other alternatives would be less dynamic and

    less desireable - where you have an access list and then filter based on those displaynames you have.

    You may be able to create a Flow that updates a table - so it's refreshed daily.

    I would definitely start with the AD connector -   from either PowerApps (this would be realtime)  or Power Automate which would be a daily or scheduled update to dataverse or a list.

    Hopefully this provides some ideas -

    Hi @George_Po,

    If you have listed all these users in this Person column, absolutely you could generate a dropdown list for users to select.

    If you want users to select users only in their own deparment, you could try this:

    Filter(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:"",top:999}),Department=First(Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:User().Email,top:999})).Department)

    Hi Q,

    I've try it, but it seems, that we don't have "Office365" function
