Uploading images to a shared OneDrive folder and not individuals OneDrive accounts

Hello All,

I have an app that saves data (including images) from a form to an excel spreadsheet, multiple users are using this app and I have shared the excel spreadsheet and the images folder from one drive with them.

The issue I have is that the images uploaded in the app are only visible to the person who uploaded them.

It seems that the uploaded images are being saved to each user's OneDrive instead of the shared folder.

I have made sure my the column heading in excel is using the [image] tag, I've double checked that my sharing permissions are set to can edit, I'm kind of at a loss. Any advice?

This is because your onedrive connector prompts the user when they run the app, and it connects on their behalf to OneDrive. I haven't tried this, but I would use the SharePoint list connector but feed it the OneDrive URL, since ONeDrive is SharePoint don't see why this wouldn't work. Also make sure users are explicitly added to the Files in the onedrive since using the sharing links will not work. You can tell based on the URL accessing the content will be the URL with the folder structure and filename in the URL, not just a random GUI so https://tenant-my.sharepoint.com/personal/username_domain_org/Documents/Desktop/Teams%20Tips.pptx.... and not

https://tenant-my.sharepoint.com/:p:/g/personal/username_domain_com1/Ea1RM11aXW1Cm00pWnkkvlUB87x99mkbBj1vGce5po8eMw?e=btLAyN

Just a hunch that might work since you are going to have the connector access a specific location and not onedrive with a folder path.

This didn't work, but it did force me to learn Sharepoint lists and I think I'll just update the app to run off a list.

Yeah, putting it on SharePoint was going to be my backup suggestion :).

So putting it Sharepoint didn't work because I need users to be able to select a photo from their computer and upload, the sharepoint picture column doesn't work and changing the format to a hyperlink doesn't work because the image is on the computer not on the web so no URL to copy in.

I don't think so, but I might look at it. I think I might be able to solve the issue by having the other users move the shared folder over to their individual OneDrives. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test this until Monday.

I mean it'll work but you won't have centralized access to the data they upload to it. Assuming that is a goal.
