MultiUser Fields in Sharepoint

Hey all,

I am trying to build some flow from Workfront to Sharepoint. Some of the fields in Workfront are multi-user fields, while syncing them to Sharepoint if the field has one value, it works fine ( one user) -  but on adding one more user to the same field it does not work. I get an error on the SharePoint side

How do I accommodate this in my API call? Could someone help me with the same?

    Hi @adityax96,

What type of API calls do you want to use?

Generally speaking you need to provide an array for that type of field in your API call.

Have a look at these examples from @tom_riha, these show how to use a Select or a HTTP request which uses an array which you can use in that type of field.

Hey again @Expiscornovus, thanks for your response. I am currently not using Power Automate but Sharepoint and external tools from Adobe to Sync from Workfront to Sharepoint.

I am attaching a screenshot of how it is on my end. The field RWS LEAD can have two people assigned to it, but when I try to update it via the ID ( that is the internal user ID of the person ) - you can see that because one field has two values it does not work. If I send only one ID to the field it works perfectly well.

How can I make it work so that it can work for multiple users assigned to one field in SharePoint?

    Hi @adityax96,

That second link shows a REST API call which in the example is posted via Power Automate, but you should also be able to use that type of request in other applications as well (like Postman or maybe Workfront).

As long as you are able to handle the authentication, that should work as well. Here is the generic documentation for the REST API to interact with SharePoint Online objects:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/sp-add-ins/working-with-lists-and-list-items-with-rest

Btw, these are the Power Automate forums. That's why I was answering with Power Automate examples 😄

If you have this type of generic SharePoint question I would suggest to also try the SharePoint Tech community:

    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/sharepoint/ct-p/SharePoint

Hey there @Expiscornovus , Thanks for your support! Would it be possible to reach out in a Private Message to get some more clarity regarding the same?

Regardless, thanks for your quick and prompt response! 🙂
