Hi!

Currently im using the solution provided in this link: Solved: Prevent multiple users from editing same records - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com).

However, it sort of creates a bug where if users closes the app while in the edit mode or if they leave the screen on edit mode for too long, the app webpage might refresh, leaving the boolean in the list to remain as false so the record will be locked unless the admin with access to the list can fix this, is there any workaround for this?

That is my post and after a lot of thought at the time, I believe it is the best you can do. There is no effective built-in "record locking" in power apps, so if another user saves the record, the first user's record is no longer in the "current state" and they will receive a message notifying them of this when they try to save. All they have to do then is reload and re-save their changes. Any user leaving their app open really has not affect on this - it is about whether what they are submitting reflects the state it was in when loaded.
