Create XML based an SharePoint list entries

Hello all,

I´m looking for an approach to define different sitecolumns in a SharePoint list and then export this list to e.g. a XML file via Power Automate?
What I want to reach is, that the users can define all the meta data within the concept phase on their own and after that, I just link to the XML file within my script to create the sitecolumns.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi!

I guess you already explored the options of xml() function, right?

    Hope this helps

    Hi

You can invoke WDL functions in Power Automate, too. Just declare a expression

    Hope this helps

    Hi,

Are you looking to create a list with site columns via Power Automate?

    Thanks

    Hi @abm

what I actually want to do is following:

An user should be able to define a set of Sitecolumns in central SharePoint list for his own Sitecollection/list.

After that I want to export this set of metadata in a XML file and run a Powershell script, which creates this metadata/sitecolumns in the users list.

    Hi @Chriss1982

To read from SharePoint you need Get List Items. Then you need to construct XML contents using the list items (String manipulations). Finally pass the XML string to HTTP request or without XML you could map the dynamic contents to HTTP requests.

From Power Automate you can execute HTTP requests to SharePoint to create columns and metadata.

This article explains how to run a powershell using azure functions. Yes that requires some programming knowledge.
