Launch and control Edge Beta

Good afternoon,

I'm excited to get to use Microsoft Power Automate Desktop now that it's available for free. I primarily use Edge Beta. The extension installs successfully in both Edge and Edge Beta. Under Web Automation, I only have an option for 'Launch new Edge' which opens the regular version.

I don't see any settings, options, or documentation that mentions using Edge Beta. Is it possible somehow?

I think you have no options to control it. Maybe you can ask Microsoft support team for better answer.

You can use "Run Application" action to launch Edge beta browser.

Thanks! That lets you launch the application, but there's not a way to perform web automation category actions after this, since it doesn't create the browser variable.

My problem is actually the exact opposite. I have several channels of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. But Power Automate Desktop instead launches: Google Chrome Canary, Edge Dev, and FireFox ESR - Instead of the normal versions of each!

I have figured out a workaround though, these are the steps for chromium based browsers like Google Chrome / Edge:

Variables > "Set Variable"
'Set' = '%WebsiteURL%' or whatever name you want
'To' = The URL you want to open
System > "Run Application" action.
Set the "Application Path" to the browser's exe.
In "Command line arguments" box, enter "%WebsiteURL" --- (WITH quotes, and use whatever variable name you set).
Set 'After Application Launch' to 'Continue Immediately'.
Wait > "Wait for Window" action.
'Find Window' = 'By Title and/or Class'
'Window Title' = Use dropdown to select the browser tab name you opened. For example, in google chrome, for google.com, it's "Google - Google Chrome".
'Wait for window to' = 'open'
Web Automation > "Launch New Chrome" (or whatever browser)\
Launch Mode = Attach to running instance
Attach to chrome tab = By Title
Tab title = "Google" (or whatever the tab is called)
Now you can do whatever you want, the flow should be attached to the new tab you created in the correct browser.

Notes:
You might be able to just replace Step 3 with a simple 'wait' action and wait for like 3 seconds. It's just to make sure step 4 doesn't look for the tab before it loads.
The reason you set it to 'continue immediately' in step 2, is because otherwise it will throw an error if the browser is already running. Also, the 'wait for application to load' setting doesn't work here anyway, but that's what step 3 is for.
Depending your needs, you can just open the website you want directly in step 2 by changing the first variable. But by going to google first you can have it attach to the tab and then you'll have a valid 'Browser' instance to work with.
