Interact with Desktop flow from a Cloud flow

Scheduling a desktop flow via a cloud flow, however at the beginning of my desktop flow there are choices that do different things.

I would preferably like to be able set the value of a variable from the cloud flow but I'm not sure if that's possible as the value of said variable decides what route to go via IF statements.

Hi @BkingstonGTI

In the Desktop Flow take an Input variable.

This variable will show up in the Cloud flow when you use the "Run a Desktop Flow" connector.

Pass the value of that variable from the Cloud Flow

Read that variable value in the Desktop flow and navigate your If statements accordingly.

I've basically never used cloud flows, not sure how to make a variable from the desktop flow to appear in the cloud flow. What connectors or whatever id need to use to pull data from my desktop flow.

Not super resourceful, i understand everything in there, i just need to know how to set a variable within a cloud flow that my desktop flow can read.

As an example, the red marked ones are the Input parameters created in Desktop Flows but showing up on Cloud Flows

Instead of hard coded values here, you can also use variables from the Dynamic Content available in Cloud Flows.

- The above 3 variables will be available in your Desktop flows

and this is the one you need to read and navigate in your If statements.

In order to have a connection between Cloud and Desktop Flows there needs to be a Gateway setup

This should do what you're looking for. Basically you want to start your desktop flow from a cloud trigger. You can add user inputs as part of starting the flow. You'll have corresponding input variables in your desktop flow. When calling your desktop flow to start, you can assign your inputs to the desktop variables. The desktop flow will then be able to use these during its automation.
