Update a Date & Time picker column on button click and submit record to SharePoint List

I have a SharePoint List called "Demand Request List" that has a date & time picker field called "PLM Created Date".

On my PowerApp I want to update this column with the current date & time when a user clicks a button. Ideally, I don't even want the fields to be in the PowerApp, and the button could just send the timestamp to the SharePoint List, but I would settle for just making them not visible.

I tried a few solutions but nothing has worked so far. Any thoughts?

    Hi @Juliet

    make use of Now()

    UpdateIf( dbname, ID = Gallery.Selected.ID, {DateColumn:Now()}

    Hi @Juliet ,

    OnSelect of the button

    UpdateContext({varToday: true})

    Date field DefaultDate

    If(
     varToday,
     Today(),
     Parent.Default
    )

    Hour drop-down Default

    If(
     varToday,
     Text(Hour(Now()),"00"),
     Text(Hour(Parent.Default),"00")
    )

    Minute drop-down Default

    If(
     varToday,
     Text(Minute(Now()),"00"),
     Text(Minute(Parent.Default),"00")
    )

    Works perfect,

    Dont forget to set the variabel to false on the save or cancel button in the edit form:

    UpdateContext({varToday: false})
