I am experiencing an odd issue with trying to make a collection that mimics a Dataverse table.
Here's what I am trying to accomplish:
I have an app where users can enter requests from another team. The users can enter up to 4 requests at once, which I would like to house in a gallery. They fill out the controls in the gallery to enter up to four requests, then click a button to submit. There are some columns that i need to pre-populate with data, so on page load, I run this function:
ClearCollect(
colNewRequests,
ForAll(
Sequence(4),
Patch(
{
Value: Value,
POA_ID: varRequestPOA.ID,
POA_Number: varRequestPOA.NAME
},
Defaults('DDC Managed Services Work Tasks')
)
)
);I runs perfectly. However, when I try to add a value for the lookup column named "Claimed By" which would allow me to pre-assign the incoming task(s) to a team member, there appears to be no way to pre-populate that column with any value. I have tried every method, value, etc. that I can think of, from record to GUID to a lookup function, but anything I enter yields this error:
The type of this argument 'cr6c5_ClaimedBy' does not match the expected type 'Record'. Found type 'DataEntity'.
This makes no sense because no matter what type of entry I try, it just claims I am entering a DataEntity which is just not true. Has anyone experienced something like this before or found a workaround?
