Hello,

I am looking for some insight on a solution I want to build.

I am wondering if there is a way to add a small popup next to a column of choice in a model driven app. What I would like is if I clicked on a column in a certain row that I would see a small popup maybe to the right of the column that might hold related data not show in the current view. Example is maybe if I clicked the "Name" column in the first row, I would get a popup to the right showing some information related to that record.

Is this something I should use JS in an editable grid for or do I need to do something with a web resource. I am a little new to the model driven side of things and just looking to see if something like this is feasible.

Let me know if anyone has any ideas!

You can add a JavaScript event OnRecordSelect if you use the Power Apps grid control (in the classic designer). But that will only trigger when you select on any part of the row and not particular column.

@LinnZawWin thank you for your response! Any way by using the editable grid that I could achieve triggering at the column level or would I hit the same limitation as the grid control?

You'll hit the same limitation because there is only OnRecordSelect which is triggered on the selection of the row. There is no OnCellSelect which triggers on clicking of the row at a specific cell.

If the requirement is critical for the business (MUST), you can build a PCF grid control but that will take a lot of development effort and probably not worth it.
